  1. Mountain Views 

Then head out to Rollins State Park in Warner, NH  located at the southern base of Mount Kearsarge. (By Reservation Only.) Beginning at the park entrance, travel the 3-½ mile long scenic road to the parking and picnic areas. The picnic area, situated in a natural wooded glen beneath granite ledges, offers views stretching from Mt. Monadnock to the hills of New Hampshire’s coastal plain. From there, hike a 1-mile trail to the summit of Mt. Kearsarge for even more amazing views. 

  1. Native American History  

Next stop, just down Kearsarge Mountain Road is the Mount Kearsarge Indian Museum. (Tour reservations are highly recommended. Call 603-456-2600 to reserve a tour.) Situated on 12.5 acres, you’ll find indoor and outdoor experiences. Outdoors, the Medicine Wood Trail, the Betsy Janeway Arboretum and activity area with a spectacular view of the Mink Hills awaits. Indoor exhibits include artifacts and information chronicling the life of prehistoric to contemporary Native Americans from all over North America. 

  1. Telephone History

Drive back into Warner, NH to stop by the New Hampshire Telephone Museum. Take a self-guided tour through a tangible history of telecommunications. With a collection of over 1,000 artifacts and an app with additional information highlighting important moments in telephone history, the New Hampshire Telephone Museum is a must-see. 

  1. A Break by the Lake 

Next, head north to Kezar Lake and Wadleigh State Park and Beach. (By Reservation Only.) This park offers swimming at Wadleigh Beach and shaded picnic sites. Great for families and group outings and complete with a bathhouse, picnic tables and playing fields. 

  1. Historic Farm Life 

Finally, follow the winding road that hugs the side of Kezar Lake and step back in time with a visit to Muster Field Farm Museum. This beautiful 18th Century historic homestead in North Sutton, NH highlights restored farm buildings and a working farm. Make sure to pick up some of their Farm Stand goodies while you’re there. Walk the grounds, visit the animals, and meander through the gardens to wind down after your Kearsarge area galavant.
